Catholic Campus Ministry Financial and Spiritual Help

Hello all! Long time readers at both Catholic Exchange and here have asked me in the past how they can support my ministry. I am currently working as a Catholic Campus Minister at a small liberal arts college in the area. We are trying to raise funds for Newman center, a van, and running the ministry. If you would like to financially donate to this much needed ministry–college students are the largest group leaving the Catholic Church–you can donate here. It will take you to the Diocese of Richmond Office of Evangelization CCM donation page for all of the CCMs in the diocese. Scroll down the list to Roanoke College Catholic Campus Ministry to donate. We are in rebuild mode. There has been a lot for this ministry to overcome. It is still recovering from the impacts of COVID-19, the coordinator (my position) spot was vacant for a while, and our chaplain is battling cancer. The Lord is at work, however! He does amazing things in the midst of difficulties. It is through the Cross that the Resurrection and Pentecost come!

As always, prayers are greatly appreciated. College students face an onslaught from the culture. I am asking Our Lady under her title, Stella Maris, to provide a safe harbor for these students. That is why we are praying and asking for donations to help us fund a house (and the needs of the ministry) where the students can come to pray, gather in fellowship and fun, study together, have a small chapel, and provide me an office where I can be available to the students. If you can’t financially support us, please pray through the intercession of Our Lady Star of the Sea, St. Joseph, and Servant of God Frank Parater for the Lord to provide for all of our needs. Thanks so much! God bless.

Hail, bright star of ocean,
God’s own Mother blest,
Ever sinless Virgin,
Gate of heavenly rest.

Taking that sweet Ave
Which from Gabriel came,
Peace confirm within us,
Changing Eva’s name.

Break the captives’ fetters,
Light on blindness pour,
All our ills expelling,
Every bliss implore.

Show thyself a Mother;
May the Word Divine,
Born for us thy Infant,
Hear our prayers through thine.

Virgin all excelling,
Mildest of the mild,
Freed from guilt, preserve us,
Pure and undefiled.

Keep our life all spotless,
Make our way secure,
Till we find in Jesus,
Joy forevermore.

Through the highest heaven
To the Almighty Three,
Father, Son and Spirit,
One same glory be. Amen.
