Hello all! I’ve received emails from people wondering where I went. I spent the last year working in full-time ministry in a parish that took up all of my time. I was working 6 days per week, evenings, weekends, and everything in between while my husband was on the road 50-75% of the time. I can say that it is the fastest year of my life. I feel like I blinked and it was over because of how demanding ministry has been. The need for reform and dedication to souls is extremely great.
While I thought this position and move was more permanent–my family and I relocated across the state–it turns out the Lord’s plans were for it to be short term. The priest-friend I went to work for was reassigned to a new position and due to chronic issues with my health worsening from the hours and stress of ministry and the fact that I felt like I would miss the last 6 years I have with my daughter in the home, I resigned from full-time ministry for the time being. My family and I are returning to the mountains back across the state to be closer to my husband’s work and so our daughter can attend a hybrid classical school that blends classroom instruction multiple days a week with homeschooling. Being an only child, finding a good fit for her in our current cultural collapse has been a great challenge. Someday I will write about our terrible experiences with Catholic schools, which I know are not unique for those parents who are more interested in the salvation of their children’s souls than them getting into Harvard.
Once we get moved and settled I will begin writing again regularly. I will return to Catholic Exchange as a weekly contributor on Thursdays. I will try to write here as I am able to and I may finally get to writing the book multiple people have told me that I need to write. We will see what the Lord has store in this next chapter. I pray He blesses you abundantly through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph. Pax.

I look forward to reading your posts again at both Catholic Exchange and on your own website.
Blessings. Mary
