As a Catholic writer, I want to move past the alienation found in an obsession with polemics. I want to balance the battles of our day with a theological understanding that is focused on our eschatological end. I don't want the world to think that Catholics think their faith is primarily political. In fact, that isn't even our first priority. Our first priority is holiness within the worshiping community, which is the Church. I am married to a wonderful and devoted husband. We have one beautiful daughter. I am a cradle Catholic who had a few moments off the path. I am now a devoted Roman Catholic who is working through the path of holiness in my vocation of wife, mother, and student theologian. I am thankful for all Our Lord does in my life and how he is guiding me. I love my family and friends. I love my Church. I enjoy gardening with my husband, photography, studying, learning the art of prayer, cooking, playing with my daughter, taking walks and running when I can force myself to. I am here to share my story of how Christ is guiding me to holiness. It is a path I walk with fear and trembling, but also overwhelmed with joy. I don't get it right most days, but the path to sanctity takes a lifetime. Some mornings I am drinking a warm pumpkin latte and the next trying to fight being addicted to coffee. I am healing from loss the loss of three babies in miscarriage and learning from my mistakes. My husband and daughter are the greatest gifts I could possibly be given and as unworthy as I am, they are how Our Lord works most directly in my life. I like to write about the Faith, motherhood, studying theology, my hobbies, my struggles, and just about the journey. I am a freelance writer and I am a regular contributor at Catholic Exchange. After years of self-study, I am finally working on my graduate studies in Theology and Philosophy. My classes fill me with awe and wonder. What an amazing gift God has given me through my intellectual abilities. I am so excited to grow in a deeper knowledge of God through prayer and formal study! Thanks for stopping by and may Our Lord bless you always.

Catholic Exchange: The Ascension Reveals to Us Our Ultimate Hope

It is during these dark days of uncertainty that we must raise our eyes to heaven. It is through Christ’s Ascension and return to the Father that we learn to follow Christ to our ultimate end. He shows us that our true home is not to be found in this world. We are made for …

The Saints and the Cross: Mary’s Hope

Today I look at the next supernatural virtue of hope and how Our Lady shows us how to live in the hope of eternal life regardless of our circumstances. She trusted in God always and united her will fully to His. We are called to do the same during this pandemic and during all of …

The Saints and the Cross Episode 15: Mary’s Faith

This week I will be focusing on Our Lady and the supernatural virtues of faith, hope, and charity. In this video I focus on Mary's great faith and trust in Christ even when she didn't understand everything He was doing. She trusted that it was for some greater good and for our salvation. This is …

Hour of Our Death: Corona Stories Piece

I sincerely hope people start making peace with the fact that we cannot control the outcome of this pandemic. No SARS vaccines have been viable in the last seventeen years. One may be found for this one, but there’s a good chance it won’t. That means herd immunity is our best shot, which means we …

The Saints and the Cross Episode 14: Mary, Undoer of Knots

In this episode of The Saints and the Cross, I return once more to Our Lady, this time under her title Undoer of Knots. All of us have knots in our lives and this pandemic and exile are creating even more as we try to discern what we are supposed to do. A lot of …

The Saints and the Cross Episode 13: St. Paul

Today I talk about St. Paul and the nature of the communion we share in Christ. With this exile from one another comes the temptation to division, whether due to our politics, beliefs in relation to the Church, or how best to deal with this pandemic. The vitriol and anger in social media that breeds …

The Saints and the Cross Episode 12: St. Helena and the True Cross

Today I talk about St. Helena and the True Cross. I have a rather mysterious connection to St. Helena and I share a little bit about my own journey and my temporary guardianship of three holy relics of the True Cross. I have learned that the Cross is non-negotiable if we want to become saints. …

The Saints and the Cross Episode 11: St. Padre Pio

Today's episode is on St. Padre Pio and persevering through this period of exile. He is a saint who achieved high levels of sanctity and was given great blessings and gifts from God, including the stigmata. He suffered tremendously, often at the hands of others because of these extraordinary gifts. During this time as we …

The Saint and the Cross Episode 10: St. Catherine of Siena

I’m a few days late, but today I talk about St. Catherine of Siena. In this short talk, I focus on her life of prayer and the interior life, which led Christ to use her in extraordinary ways. She’s often quoted in response to the clergy sex abuse scandals. It’s important for us to remember …

Hope in the Real Presence

I know from comments on some of my articles and in social media that some people are feeling abandoned by the Church during this time. I wanted to share this brief video of my pastor bestowing Benediction on our city. Christ is with us in these dark and difficult days. Cling to Him in hope. …
