The last couple of months we had to place our adoption homestudy paperwork on hold while I dealt with gall bladder disease and my subsequent surgery. Today my surgeon cleared me to return to normal living and we are now focusing on finishing up our paperwork, so that we can have our homestudy home inspection done. We want to wrap up the homestudy process as quickly as possible.
My husband and I are in a kind of holding pattern right now while we wait to see if a single mother we have been helping–who decided against having an abortion last fall–will be able to keep her son. We have done everything we can to help her succeed on her own and we will continue to provide friendship and assistance to her after her baby is born here in the next week or two. She has told us that if she cannot make ends meet then she will give us her son for adoption. We are finishing up the homestudy process now in the event she needs us to adopt her son. Please pray for her and her unborn baby. It’s a difficult situation for her. We want to help her in the best way we can and to follow God’s will on this journey.
We are still doing our YouCaring fundraiser. It’s even more necessary now that I have accumulated medical bills for a surgery and multiple ER visits thanks to my former gall bladder. Please consider sharing our fundraiser and discerning a donation. God has asked us to walk an unexpected, difficult, and joyful journey. There are so many children out there who need a loving family and home. We greatly desire to provide a child with the love they deserve. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us already. My husband, daughter, and I are truly grateful. You can find our adoption fundraiser at the following link:

I plan to return to regular contributions at Catholic Exchange beginning next week.
